Joey Beltran to Face Chad Corvin at UFC 113

Joey Beltran will make his second trip inside the Octagon when he takes on undefeated Chad Corvin at UFC 113 on May 8 in Montreal, the UFC confirmed Thursday.

Beltran (11-3) made his UFC debut at UFC 109 stepping in on a week's notice, stopping Rolles Gracie in the second round. He entered the fight coming off a TKO win against Houston Alexander.

Jared Hess Returns to Bellator With Eyes Set on Hector Lombard Rematch

Jared Hess will return to season two of Bellator to give it another shot at the promotion's middleweight title, Bellator announced Thursday.

During season one, Hess submitted Daniel Tabera and stopped Yosmany Cabezas before losing in the finals to current champion Hector Lombard due to a fourth-round cut stoppage. This year, the goal for Hess (9-1-1) will be to beat three opponents to secure a title shot rematch in September against Lombard.

"I'm looking forward to winning the tournament and getting a chance to face Hector again," Hess said. "I think it would be a much different outcome this time. My standup has improved by leaps and bounds since then. Add that to my wrestling and I think I'd have a distinct edge this time."

The most interesting parts of Wednesday night's UFC Primetime show were the ones that took us inside the training camp -- and the mind -- of welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. And although all of St. Pierre's focus is on defending his 170-pound title against Dan Hardy at UFC 111, I submit that the logical extension of St. Pierre's physical and mental approach for Hardy is an eventual move up to 185 pounds and a run at the middleweight title.
